A black T-shirt might be the simplest piece of clothing you own.

Fabric weight is commonly expressed in GSM: grams per square metre.

A lightweight tee and a 200+ GSM heavyweight tee can create very different experiences.

We favour heavyweight shirts around the 200–240 GSM range.

Why?

Because we like substance.

Heavier fabric can create more structure and a more substantial feel, which works particularly well with the minimal aesthetic of a black T-shirt.

But remember: GSM isn't a quality score.

It's one characteristic of the garment.

3. Don't ignore the collar

Look at your favourite old T-shirts.
